The Municipal Council of Beau Bassin – Rose Hill

The Municipal Council of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill organized a detection exercise for residents of the town for our École de Foot at Sir Gaëtan Duval Stadium on 8 February 2025.

The Municipal Council of Beau Bassin – Rose Hill, in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and various Chinese associations in the town, organized a series of activities to mark the Chinese New Year on Saturday, 15 February 2025. The event comprised a dragon dance parade from Raymond Chasle Square, Rose Hill, to Plaza Yard, a food festival at Plaza Yard, and a cultural program in the Salle des Fêtes, Plaza.

The Maha Shivaratree festival was celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. To adhere to tradition, the Municipal Council provided the different facilities throughout the Town. A rest area was also set up in the Plaza courtyard, where the Municipal Council welcomed pilgrims from Sunday, February 23, to Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

To mark Women’s Day celebrations, the Council organized activities in favor of female employees on 7 March 2025, from 12:00 to 15:00 hrs in the Salle des Fêtes. The activities included talks by the Crime Prevention Unit, a presentation by a lawyer on laws pertaining to women, a Mehendi corner, “Témoignages,” and several games and quizzes.

Independence Day celebrations were held in all 9 pre-primary schools of the township on 11 March. A flag-raising ceremony for Municipal employees was also held on the same date at the Salle des Fêtes, Plaza, at 11:30 hrs.

Music Day celebration was held in Plaza on 29 June 2025 with several local artists namely; OSB Crew, Mario Justin, Caroline Joodun, Clarel Armel, Valo, Bhojpuri Boyz.

Inter Region Relay Pedesdre organised by ADC at Souillac.

Activity with parents by National Empowerment Foundation (NEF) at Bibliotheque du Savoir, Camp Levieux highlighting storytelling’s role in children’s development, with support from the Municipal Council on enhancing library access for residents in the township.

Community Outreach Programme by Mauritius Police Force in collaboration with the Council on Saturday 06 September 2025 in Plaza Yard.

To mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam a Blood Donation, an exhibition of books on SSR and an Endemic Tree Planting Ceremony were organised by the Municipal Council in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service at the Municipal Council of Beau Bassin Rose Hill.
